JOB DESCRIPTION:
Overview:
Responsible for maintaining production equipment in a multi-craft, team-based environment, projects and tasks are completed satisfactorily with minimal supervision. Maintains knowledge in a specialized trade and has strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, packaging and process equipment in the food or Pharmaceutical industry.
Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on production equipment.
- Performs tasks or projects alone or with minimum assistances of lead mechanics with minimal supervision.
- Can work in any production related department on any piece of equipment according to the supervisors needs.
- Assist in the calibration of facility and production instrumentation as needed.
- Operate necessary power hand tools and shop equipment including drill press, milling machine, lathe, welder, grinders, etc
- Participate in IQ/OQ and process/packaging equipment validations
- Ability to utilize various electrical test equipment and meters for troubleshooting purposes.
- The ability and knowledge to work on facilities equipment if needed such as plumbing, HVAC compressed air.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or General Education Degree. Individuals with equivalent combination of education, training and related experience will be considered.
- Associates degree Mechanical, Electrical Engineering is preferred, but not required.
- Has a strong background of electrical, mechanical, and packaging/process equipment. Must be able to follow a wiring diagram and trouble shoot equipment in a timely fashion.
- Minimum 3 years years in cGMP manufacturing with a minimum of 3 years working experiences in a mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation/controls field. Special consideration will be given to classes taken at vocational and /or technical trade school. Certificate of industrial electricity or equivalent completed program is highly desirable.
- Must have the ability use computer software programs such as Microsoft word, Excel, Project and Lotus notes or Outlook. Working knowledge of PLC programs. Have a strong background in electrical, mechanical, and machine shop equipment.
