Primary Purpose:  

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor or Lead the Press Mechanic is responsible for the operations, adjustments, maintenance and, repairs of equipment on multiple End Lines  ensuring all quality, safety and production goals are met and in compliance with established operating procedures

 

Responsibilities Accountabilities:

·    Works from blueprints, sketches, technical material as provided and/or oral instructions;  

·    Uses various machines, tools and equipment, to efficiently operate, set-up, maintain, repairs, adjust, service and overhaul multiple Ends Lines (ELII Press, Crown,  307 401)

·    Performs line changes strives to achieve established line efficiency spoilage goals

·    Responsible for the quality of the product must know how to detect defects and frequently monitor the product criteria.

·    Performs quality checks using established procedures, Work Instructions ITM’s

·    Maintain all production, inspection, quality, and safety reports for shift.

·    Records and reports all defects, damages or other production related problems; immediately brings urgent problems to the attention of Production Supervisor of Lead

·    Performs routine post and pre inspections safety check of equipment to ensure suitable working nature or equipment.

·    May be required to work on Plant Projects

·    May be required to instruct  train new hires trainees

·    Relieves for breaks and lunches as necessary

·    While conducting work functions, ensures compliance of all corporate policies and the Occupational Safety and health administration rules (OSHA)

·    5S and Housekeeping of the production lines, QC Lab (personal office if applicable)

·    Other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor or lead

 

·    Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to read, write and speak English; comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos

·    Intermediate Math Skills with the ability to; divide in all units of measurement, compute rate, ratio, and percents

·    Working knowledge of small hand tools and  measuring devices

·    Efficiently manages time and completes all tasks assigned by the supervisory authority

·    Able to work safely; Has a strong knowledge of safety practices principles

·    Team worker with the ability to coordinate work with fellow workers

·    Basic Computer skills with ability to use e-mail systems

·    High School diploma or GED equivalent

·    Minimum of 2 years of mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment

·    Hands on experience in using mechanical testing and repair tools equipment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Ÿ Apprenticeship Program

Ÿ Work experience in Metal Manufacturing

Ÿ Work experience in a union plant

Ÿ Bi-Lingual in Spanish

The atmosphere contains fumes, dust and odors. Exposure to pinch points, cuts, bruises, falls, chemicals that may be toxic and/or explosive and various solvent based coating products
