Mechanic, Preventative Maintenance

Contributes to the safe and efficient operation of equipment by performing preventive maintenance and routine repairs for assigned equipment, tools and vehicles. - Improves equipment availability and operation by performing preventative maintenance and routine repairs. - Services equipment and makes minor mechanical adjustments, modifications or repairs. - Prepares new equipment for release to the rental fleet. Inspects equipment and completes quality checklists prior to release. - Meets compliance objectives by performing all work in accordance with established safety procedures. - Helps meet DOT vehicle maintenance and safe driving standards. Ensures safety decals are properly displayed. - Observes 5S methods to keep shop area neat, clean and efficiently organized. - Maintains current and accurate information by updating maintenance schedules and records. - Keeps up to date records for warranty service. - Requisitions supplies and parts needed to service equipment and make routine repairs. - Correctly uses field service and maintenance computer system. - Keeps current on all applicable equipment, tools and servicing methods by coordinating with senior shop mechanics and location management. - Demonstrates commitment to customer service by assisting other team members and customers in loading equipment and other duties as needed. Aptitude for maintaining and repairing equipment. - Must complete mandatory safety training. - Some locations may require that employees own tools necessary to complete jobs. - High School diploma or equivalency. - Must have valid driver's license and endorsements and/or restrictions required for legal vehicle operation. - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, stoop, squat, reach, crouch and kneel, stand for long periods of time, work in unprotected weather elements, wear hard-toed shoes and other required personal protective equipment, enter and exit vehicle appointed to drive.
