Mechanical Design Engineer Job in Hazelwood 63043, Missouri Us

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a designer who wants to be part of a team creating new and innovative products.​   The ideal candidate is someone who is creative, innovative, works well on a team, and enjoys real-time global manufacturing.​  Experience working with fitness equipment in a manufacturing environment is preferred.​

 

Core Functions:

  1. Works closely with other engineering staff to formulate design concepts, create product drawings, resolve technical problems, and recommend modifications to improve quality and to reduce product cost.​
  2. Designs enclosures: machined, extruded, molded and plastic parts and assemblies.​
  3. Creates new, innovative and unique design concepts applicable to fitness equipment.
  4. Researches and specifies buy-out components, materials and vendors.​
  5. Communicates with plant personnel to produce needed components and parts.​
  6. Creates and modifies drawings using Solidworks.​
  7. Researches and solves design and manufacturing issues.​
  8. Builds prototypes of new products.​
  9. Writes, processes, and releases engineering change orders (ECOs).​
  10. Maintains ISO standard log book per engineering ISO standards.​ Assists in ISO compliance audits and product audits.​
  11. Generates product cost estimates and bills of material (BOMs).​
  12. Provides technical support for service problems related to the equipment.​
  13. Completes bills of material and supporting documentation (manuals, wiring schematics, etc.​) required for the release of new products into production.​
  14. Provides assistance in obtaining agency product approval and listing (UL and NSF).​
  15. Tests products to a variety of standards, such as safety, sanitation, performance, radiation emissions and sound.​
  16. Communicates project status to supervisors and Project Management Department.​

Job Qualifications:

  1. Experience: The position is an entry level one of an individual that has shown a proven record of core competencies during its college career.   Participation in idea-generation process is preferred.​
  2. Education: Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering or other mechanical type degree.​  Strong working knowledge is necessary in the following areas: designing PCB enclosure products, manufacturing processes, and Solidworks.​
