This position will be responsible for the design, analysis, test, and integration of electro-mechanical package design of motion control servo drive products. The position will have design responsibility in all aspects of product design including concept generation, detailed design and analysis, verification testing, cross functional reviews, and manufacturing release.


- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of three years of electronics package design experience with an emphasis in industrial controls, defense, and/or the telecommunications industry.
- Must have a proven ability to conceptualize designs and communicate new design concepts to cross functional teams.
- Strong background in the mechanical design of PCBAs and electrical interconnect systems.
- Understanding of thermal analysis techniques for low and high power electronic packaging systems. Experience with CFD thermal analysis tools is desired.
- Design proficiency of injection-molded thermoplastics, various metal casting methods, and sheet-metal design to ensure preferred manufacturing methods.
- Must be able to evaluate and develop various designs and manufacturing methods to optimize product functionality.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Pro-Engineer.
- Experience designing for regulatory compliance and agency approval (UL, CE, NEMA, IEC, etc).
- Understanding and practice of laboratory procedures for the safe and efficient use of electrical power, rotating electrical machinery, hand tools, power tools, model shop machinery, and general laboratory cleanliness.
- Candidate must be detailed oriented detailed in the organization of documentation related to design concepts, validation, and product release requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects.
- Familiarity with Rockwell Automation products.
- Knowledge of industrial drives and/or motion control technology and industry trends
- This position will require the Design Engineer to work closely in a team manufacturing environment for implementation of new products.
- Must have proven ability to design products for manufacturability
- SAP experience is desired
