They have many years experience supplying utility, commercial and industrial power applications, worldwide.
They are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team of technical professionals. This role requires an outgoing, versatile and energetic individual who has a keen sense for quality and urgency and thrives in a fast paced environment.
Role Summary:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Design Engineer will design custom solutions to match customer specifications from selection, design, integration and commissioning of mechanical-electrical products (switchgears).
Generic Duties And Responsibilities:
Review and understand design requirements of customized products
Participate in design review when necessary
Plan and complete defined design work per schedule
Choose correct modular subassemblies and configurations of the product
Design and modify the layout and package of the subassemblies to meet the design requirement
Detail and draft new parts required for the new design
Prepare mechanical drawings with dimensions, tolerance and bill of material
Design, program and test controller
Update schedule and database
Prepare production documentation
Verify and validate other designers work
Support production and QA
Process engineering change notices
Education:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
Key Qualifications and Competencies:
2+ years experience in mechanical engineering design
Good understanding of automatic mechanical equipment
Working experience with AutoCAD and solid modeling (Inventor/Pro-E)
Communication Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate the activities with diverse tasks and demanding schedules
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate effective organizational skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
- Must have demonstrated interpersonal and customer relations skills. Must be well organized; able to work independently while maintaining close contact at all times with his/her immediate supervisor.

- Ability to make decisions and solve problems using independent judgment in situations requiring the use of multiple variables in complex non-standard situations.
- Operates with wide latitude for un-reviewed actions and decisions requiring independent judgment having direct impact on the company.
