Mechanical Design Engineer Jobs Glasgow
My client are suppliers of specialist solutions to a variety of industries including Oil Gas, Renewable Energy and Mining.
Due to continued success they require an Mechanical Design Engineer to conduct the following duties:
- Design mechanical aspects of switchboards i.e. cubicles, busbar support systems, sizing and sparings of supports, cross sectional area of busbars, sizing of pipes, pumps, heat exchangers for liquid cooled systems, specifications of hazardous area purge systems.
-Create mechanical layout drawings for fabrication, sheet metal pipework, copperwork and busbar support systems accurately and within defined timescales from client specification
- Create mechanical detail and welded assembly drawings, complete with Bills of Material and part numbers
- Identify mechanical content from contract specification and design proposals.
To be considered for this role candidates will possess the following:
- HND or equivalent in a relevant subject i.e. mechanical engineering.
- Ability to interpret specifications and prepare drawings for manufacture.
- Proficient in the use of 3D CAD (Pro-enginer but not essential)
- A knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and joining techniques.
- Experience of mechanical design for electrical integration would be beneficial.
