Mechanical Design Engineers Job in Newcastle, New South Wales Australia

Engineers and Managers Australia have partnered with a company that design, manufacture and install a range of industrial and mechanical equipment for the mining industries.

As an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer you would be required to support the appropriate procedures and work instructions to ensure quality of design output and ensure design outputs/processes comply with such procedures. Along with monitoring and continuous improvement of systems and procedures.

In this role you will be responsible for:

Knowledge of engineering theory and practice covering all disciplines of the profession including project management.

A practical understanding of manufacturing operations.

Knowledge of statutory requirements

Knowledge of the principles of physical chemistry with specific reference to explosives.

An understanding of the Group's objectives, and Engineering' s part in those objectives and the skills to develop a team and implement a strategic plan to support the needs of the business

Education and Experience

Minimum 5-10 years experience in industrial engineering design environment

Diploma or Degree in an Engineering discipline

Familiar with CAD packages (Autocad, Solidworks)

Computer literacy with spreadsheet, word processing and electronic communication packages.

Project Management experience

The successful candidate will have completed tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering. Mechanical design knowledge in the in one or more areas of stairs, vibration equipment, drills, shafts and railings would be an advantage, but not essential.

It would also be desirable to have an undergraduate bachelor's degree in mechanical, structural or mechatronics engineering, in addition to five or more years of relevant experience with mechanical/industrial mining equipment.
