Carrier Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Designer for its Huntington, IN location. Carrier Electronics is the leader in designing and manufacturing world class electronic control, refrigeration, and system solutions.
The Mechanical Designer is responsible for:
Providing mechanical design and drafting expertise in the areas of sheet metal, fasteners, plastic and metal enclosure designs for circuit board assemblies, and design of human interface surfaces for use in the HVAC industry.
Work with mechanical engineers to develop documentation packages (part drawings, assembly drawings, Bills of Material) for each design.
Prepare drawings and Coordinate drawing releases with document management.
Ability to manage time and project activities from concept to release date.
Work with mechanical engineers and support evaluation of failures including root cause analysis and corrective actions
Participate in meetings and design reviews as required with program team members, customers, and suppliers to ensure design meets cost, reliability, quality, and manufacturability requirements.
BA/BS degree in ME/MET or equivalent with 5 plus years of related work experience including designing products within a 3D CAD package
2+ years of experience in developing documentation packages within Pro/E Wildfire 3.0 or greater and Windchill
Experience with preparing drawings in accordance with industrial drawing practices and standards
Experience with designing plastic, galvanized and painted sheet metal enclosures
Familiarity with Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning systems desirable
