Mechanical Detailer (MD)
Location =Poughkeepsie, NY
Pay $19-$23 an hour depending on Experience
MUST HAVE SOLIDWORKS EXPERIENCE
Job Summary:
MD performs routine engineering tasks using standard mechanical drafting procedures. Applies limited judgment under direct supervision.
Qualifications: (Minimum requirements)
1. Mechanical drawing schooling plus 1 year of experience.
2. Sound understanding of mechanical drawing practices, geometric tolerances, and dimensioning.
3. Good computer skills, Cad experience.
Authority:
MD has the authority to make decisions on mechanical drawings in accordance with standard drawing procedures as stated in the Engineering handbook. Exceptions to the standard operating procedure require approval of an Engineer or department Manager.
Principle Duties Responsibilities:
1. Mechanical Drawing Practices: MD must follow standard drawing practices as found in the Engineering handbook. Must know and understand clients drawing number system.
2. Bill of Materials: MD must have the capability to specify a part number for a given item, complete to the sub-assembly level. The MD must have the capability to enter the part number information into inventory program.
3. Checking: MD is responsible for inspecting his or her own work. The actual approval for an engineering change is the responsibility of an Engineer.
4. Documentation: MD is responsible for the proper documentation of his or her work. Documentation includes ECR’s, machine manuals, check list, and others.
Measure of Effectiveness:
1. Quality and accuracy of work.
2. Work completed in a timely fashion.
3. Clear and concise documentation completed in a timely fashion, that others can follow.
4. Communication and cooperation with others.
