Job Description Job Classification: Contract A Medical Device company is hiring a Mechanical/Electrical Engineer. The candidate will be responsible for supporting manufacturing department, develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials/parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and QC standards. Duties: - Clarifies and corrects work instruction. -Investigates inefficiencies and areas for cost reduction in manufacturing. -Initiates engineering change notices, deviations. Review technical merit of the changes along with FDA, regulatory and customer compliance. -Complete CAPA for process relates issues. -Promotes culture of continuous improvement and understands lean manufacturing techniques as they apply to eliminate waste and deliver products to customers. -Authorizes discrepant material dispositions. -Support the PIC department on part obsolescence problems, Reviews request for cost reduction opportunities that have technical merit. -Support manufacturing with repair/corrections on technical issues. -makes proposals/recommendations with regards to Capital equipment purchases, cost reduction opportunities. -Develop and designs production aids, fixtures, tooling and gauges for improved production efficiency in assembly and inspection departments. Qualifications: A Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required. Must have 3 years experience in engineering responsibilities.
