Mechanical Engineer II Reference: 214772 Pay Rate: $38.00 Location: Nashville, Tennessee Duration: 9 months Summary: Prepare detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, including dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information. Typically has a high school diploma or GED. Possesses technical skills, including the knowledge of design techniques and blueprint reading. Education/Experience: o Bachelor degree in engineering required o 2-4 years experience required Responsibility level o Exercises moderate independent judgment with direction from supervisor Skills: o Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability (Required) o Team player and detail oriented (Required) o Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations (Typically required) o Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports (Typically required) o Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD) (Typically required) Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: o Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices o Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects o Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendation to maintenance crew o Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment or software Manager is seeking Mechanical Design Engineer with Fixture or Tooling experience. The ideal candidate will have the ability to review concept drawings and RFPs and be able to communicate to internal customers and outside suppliers if the design will work. This role will not be designing on AutoCAD, but candidate should have strong proficiencies with designing in AutoCAD. No specific software experience required. Manager stated that the candidate should have AutoCAD experience with a 2 dimensional flavor. SolidWorks and ProE would be considered a "nice to have" but is not required. Candidate should have at least 5 years of strong work history, in either a factory automation or metal cutting background. Someone that was a former Product Engineer might work, but it would not be considered a perfect match. Manager would prefer Past OEM equipment supplier experience. In addition to strong technical skills, the ideal candidate must be able to function in a team environment and must have a professional demeanor. Worker will be expected to communicate with internal and must be able to effectively communicate with them on their findings and guide customers on what is needed for project to be successful. This individual will be expected to work on varied tasks throughout the duration of the assignment.
