BASIC FUNCTION:
Designs and engineers Gas Control Panels for various fluid control systems by performing the following duties and responsibilities.
SPECIFICALLY, THE MECHANICAL ENGINEER III (GAS PANELS):
- Engineers for gas seal control systems and gas conditioning systems.
- Confers with sales force, customers and plant engineers to clarify or resolve problems, develops designs, and prepare design modifications as required. Consults with Sales Marketing Manager for commercial impact.
- Performs job costing, quoting and system design including application analysis, development of drawings, specification and selection of components including: process filters, heaters, control instrumentation, proper valves, pressure and flow instrumentation switching devices and annunciating systems.
- Produces quotations by analyzing product, equipment and customer specifications. Presents costs to Sales and Marketing Manager to determine the quoted price.
- Meets with customers to present system design and submit quote for approval. Provide customer with scheduling of design drawings, material procurement, manufacturing, testing and delivery.
- Directs preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings or schematics.
- Communicates with customer during approval process of drawings, documentation and procedures.
- Provides manufacturing department with Bill of Material, general arrangement drawings, detailed drawings, and project scheduling.
- Coordinates with the customer for final testing/inspection and shipment and advises manufacturing department of these dates.
- Compiles and analyzes systems test and research data prior to shipment of the product.
- Travels for start-up and trouble shooting of systems as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university and a minimum of one to two years of related engineering experience and/or training.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals and respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry, apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations and perform necessary calculations for fluid flow and fluid control in piping systems.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Must hold or be able to obtain a valid passport (position requires domestic and international travel).
- Experience/training with 2D and/or 3D modeling software and Microsoft Office products.
