Mechanical Engineer Job in 27834, North Carolina US

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:  (Other duties may be assigned). 

 

·                  Provides machine and fixture design, which includes designs of products or systems such as air decay testers and associated components, brazing and other fixtures, controls, and automation.

·                  Services customers such as the New Products group, Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance, and the Modular Engineering group by providing machine design and troubleshooting expertise, along with guidance on product design for assembly.

·                  Manages deadlines established by these customers.

·                  Plans and directs maintenance personnel in machining, fabrication, and assembly of equipment, tooling, and fixturing.

·                  Sources and leads purchasing process for machine components from outside vendors.

·                  Develops methods and procedures for testing products or systems.

·                  Directs and coordinates installation activities to ensure products conform to customer specifications.

·                  Designs interfaces between machines, hardware, and software. 

·                  Evaluates field installations and recommends design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.

·                  Develops business cases and Capital Expenditure Reports for the purchase of replacement machines and tooling.

·                  Hands on fabrication, light machining and installation of products and systems
