Mechanical Engineer Job in Ashford, Southern Uk

Our client is currently seeking a time served - mechanically biased Engineer, working double day shifts (6am to 2pm/2pm to 10pm, Monday to Friday).

 

The post holder will be responsible for carrying out pro-active and re-active maintenance (fault finding) of production line equipment - steam heated manufacturing vessels, mixers, pumps, filling, capping, labeling, conveyors and weighing machinery.  Suitable candidates will also have experience of working within the work shop – lathes, mills and welding equipment.

 

In addition to day to day maintenance duties this role will involve contributing to the improvement of HS within the department.

 

Desired experience – working with filling/assembly machines and labelers, good diagnostic/fault finding skills on high volume machinery.  Recent FMCG experience essential.

 

The ability to work with AutoCAD and to follow engineering drawings of hydraulic, pneumatic, water and steam systems would be an advantage but not essential.

 

Suitable candidates will be time-served, educated to BTEC/ONC level in engineering (or equivalent).

 

38.5 hour week, Monday to Friday
