This intermediate role will give you the opportunity to

·         Be part of a group of multi-disciplinary engineers

·         Gain experience and grow your knowledge and career

·         Work on multiple projects with clients from conceptual to design (design, engineering studies, feasibility studies and condition assessments) and through construction and commissioning stages

·         Mentor junior staff and create and develop teams

·         Learn from experienced industry professionals

·         Provide technical support to junior engineers and during construction stages of a project

·         Coordinate and liaise with other disciplines to produce multi-discipline products

·         Work closely with the client and contractors throughout the various project stages

 

We require you to have

·         Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent and working towards (or be eligible for) P.Eng. in Alberta with 5+ years experience in the Oil Gas industry, mostly in North America

·         Effective verbal and written English communication skills

·         Alberta drivers license

 

As an intermediate mechanical engineer you will already have a wealth of knowledge and experience. While developing your existing knowledge we will help you refine those skills and give you valuable new ones. Within your existing engineering skills we would ideally like you to have experience with some (or all!) of the following industry specific skills:

 

·         Project management of teams and large projects

·         Proven ability to work effectively with clients, a team of professionals and support staff and to provide guidance to junior team members

·         Compile or participate in construction work packages including interdisciplinary design and review

·         Prepare technical specifications and tender packages for mechanical systems and materials, technical selection, calculation, sizing and evaluation of piping, rotating and stationary equipment and material handling

·         Knowledgeable with latest revision of ASME B31.3, CSA Z662 and Canadian regulatory codes

·         Experience participating in HAZOP reviews, or similar experience

·         Prepare equipment specifications/data sheets, layout and design of mechanical equipment for industrial plants and related infrastructure

·         Experience with piping system design and construction (including tailings and slurry and/or refinery), stationary and rotating equipment

·         Experience in designing and developing PFD’s, PID’s, isometrics and orthograhics

·         Review vendor designs, submissions, drawings and mechanical details and interface data

·         Direct activities to ensure that construction, installation and operational commissioning meet recognized codes and standards and customer requirements

·         Evaluate the desired goal of a system and develop, design or select the appropriate equipment to achieve the clients target

·         Wellsite/equipment layout experience
