My client is a market leader operating within the railway and mining industries.
With offices in Perth, Western Australia, and Derby, UK, my client develops, designs and builds advanced industrial measurement and control equipment, mostly for passenger and heavy freight railways. Current project work is as diverse as the design for manufacture of instrumentation to automate the measurement of rail component wear (including wheels, brakes and rails), through to the automatic operation of long heavy freight trains.
We seek Professional Mechanical Engineers to join their expanding UK team. These positions will involve a wide range of mechanical engineering activities, including taking responsibility for design projects from start to finish.
To be successful in this role, you will have most of the following:
· A recognized degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 2 years experience.
· Knowledge of design engineering processes
· Experience of basic 3D mechanical design (Autodesk Inventor experience preferred)
· Experienced in manufacturing inspection and quality assurance
· Experience of supplier liaisons and production engineering
· Strong verbal and written English communication skills
· Excellent organizational skills, computer proficiency, an analytical mind and the drive to succeed.
· Experience in the rail industry is advantageous but not essential.
