Mechanical Engineer Job in Eaton 45320, Ohio US
Manufacturing company is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer.
Plans, directs, and coordinates activities and projects concerned with the design, construction, and modification of tooling, equipment, and machinery. Designs will be verified using finite element analysis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Proposes and justifies machine/resource redesign, process enhancement, and manufacturing improvement projects.
• Establishes parameters for the initial layout and sketches of design concepts for redesign of existing manufacturing resources.
• Coordinates multi-discipline engineering tasks, either in the design or construction phase of a project.
• Verifies tooling and fixture designs using FEA software.
• Applies project management principles, (planning, monitoring, reporting and control of cost, time, and resources) and prepares detailed plans for particular tasks under his/her control.
• Conducts necessary studies, analysis, investigations, estimating, and testing to complete projects.
• Implements and manages approved projects using latest technologies.
• Works within a Project Team environment to introduce cost savings projects on the manufacturing floor.
• Responsible for project review/design reviews with other engineering personnel.
• Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
Qualifications:
• Required is a Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering (Mechanical preferred) discipline or equivalent; and at least five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to manage capital projects and concurrent engineering projects.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
• Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
• Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
• Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to production personnel, top management and public groups.
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
• Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as trigonometry, algebra and statistical techniques.
• Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
• Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.
