Our Client develops and manufactures chemicals, plastic resins and end-products that make everyday life safer, healthier and easier. Our Client is a world-class manufacturing facility near Red Deer, Alberta and is seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer who will be a member of a high performing and self-managed team responsible for executing key business focused projects for our Polyethylene manufacturing plants.

Specific responsibilities will include:

*Ensure projects meet the mechanical and piping design requirements for successful implementation through problem solving and troubleshooting of process equipment as well as specifying and preparation of new equipment requirements.
*Provide support to the project in the areas of Responsible Care Standards, HAZOP reviews, compliance to environmental commitments, compliance to LPS Standards, and unit reviews.
*Support and participate on the project teams in the disciplined application of the Project Development and Implementation (PDI) process throughout project lifecycle: investigation, development, implementation, validation and commercial operation.
*Provide support to business Case definition.
*Develop project front end and design base memorandums.
*Lead PID development and sign off these documents
*In conjunction with other members of the technical team you will develop, input to and maintain technical work processes
*May involve some co-ordination of other mechanical engineering or design resources, students, new grads, or contractors.

Qualifications:
Musts:
*B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering with a preference for individuals with four to six years of mechanical engineering experience.
*Eligibility for APEGGA certification is required.
*Applied knowledge of heat exchanger design, pressure envelope design and a working knowledge of ASME/ANSI codes are needed to be successful in this role.
