Mechanical Designer/Engineer

 

At Micro-g LaCoste, we design, manufacture, service, and support state of the art gravity meters. In addition, Micro-g LaCoste provides specialized survey services. Micro-g LaCoste offers an excellent benefits package and a relaxed, fun and fast paced work environment.  We are currently accepting applications for a Mechanical Designer/Engineer to join our engineering team.

 

Responsibilities for this position include:

 

·         Design complex systems in SolidWorks

·         Conduct accurate classical analysis and make appropriate simplifying assumptions       where necessary

·         Conduct finite element analysis and accurately interpret and communicate results

·         Support design throughout prototyping and manufacturing process

·         Detail drawings for manufacturing

·         Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems, interferences, and errors

·         Author procedures to document build process

·         Guide technicians through prototype build process and adjust design as needed

·         Work Closely with engineers, technicians, vendor  and customers to continually improve design for manufacturing, assembly, cost, quality, capability and performance of current products

·         Manage time effectively and independently

 

Background/Experience/Skills:

 

·         B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with three years of relevant experience

·         Mechanical design and analysis using SolidWorks

·         SolidWorks Simulation and Enterprise PDM a plus

·         DFM for CNC components

·         GDT

·         Tolerance stack-up analysis

·         Strong mechanical aptitude

·         Proficient written and verbal communication skills
