Mechanical Engineer Job in Mebane, North Carolina US
Liggett Group LLC, a manufacturer of tobacco products, located in Mebane, NC is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer.
This position will:
· Manage and direct the construction of new facilities and/or modifications to existing facilities.
· Responsible for the conservation, maintenance, and protection of company properties against damage and/or losses.
· Design, manage and direct the installation of structural, mechanical, and tobacco process systems.
· Manage and direct contracted construction crew, painting crew, and sheet metal crew. Review and approve work and charges for services provided.
· Accountable for the maintenance and/or improvement of workplace safety.
· Communicate with Senior Management on the status of projects and other issues relative to company goals, plans, and priorities.
· Indirectly manages budget for facilities maintenance and directly impacts the budget through effective management of expense and capital projects.
Requirements:
· Must have some training in business principles, be able to supervise, and effectively communicate with people.
· 10 years of experience and knowledge in construction, building and design, and structural stress analysis; understanding roofing systems and managing the maintenance and upkeep of plant facilities.
· Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
· Must be able to climb ladders and walk high elevation roofs.
- Must be on the job at odd hours and in inclement weather to supervise snow removal work, or evaluate damage to buildings caused by severe weather.
