Mechanical Engineer Job in Princeton Junction 08550, New Jersey US

I.              Basic Function:

 

Our Mechanical Engineer will apply sound engineering principles to the design and development of remote precision scanning mechanisms, motion based industrial scanning machines, industrial gantries, immersion tanks, and electronic enclosures.  This person will be responsible for the product development lifecycle throughout the stages of product planning, design, prototyping, testing, documentation, manufacturing, and product maintenance. Non Destructive Testing experience is a plus:  This person will be responsible for learning, understanding, applying, and enhancing the non-destructive testing technologies that Mistras develops and markets.  This includes, but is not limited to Acoustic Emission, Ultrasonics, or Eddy Current.

 

II.              Qualifications:

 

The Mechanical Engineer must have the following qualifications:

 

1.                  A Bachelors Degree, (Masters Degree preferred) in Mechanical Engineering and 7 years direct mechanical design experience.

2.                  Design experience with mechanical components and structures, precision mechanisms, actuators, motor drive sizing (utilizing stepper, DC, and servos), and electronic enclosures.

3.                  Experience in solid modeling CAD, Solid Works and AutoCAD preferred. FEA skills are a plus.

4.                  Knowledge of production practices: particularly machining, sheet metal fabrication, material finishing, and product assembly.

5.                  Proven project management skills.  This person will be responsible for overall system concept specifications, planning, design, and coordinating of resources to complete the assigned projects on-time and on-budget.

6.                  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  This person will responsible for product documentation, presentation, internal and customer communication.
