Mechanical Engineer

 

FBD Partnership, LP seeks a Mechanical Engineer to provide product design/development and engineering support to specific product projects through design and technical support in accordance with customer requirements.

 

Primary Duties: 

·         Initiates and implements new products, product design changes and/or improvements.

·         Develops prototype parts.

·         Performs/coordinates product testing.

·         Investigates and resolves field problems related to specific products.

·         Evaluates and initiates production deviations, engineering drawings, Engineering Change Notices (ECN), and Bills of Materials.

·         Communicates with customers and vendors on requirements and materials needed for project completion.

·         Provides technical support for product line to customers, vendors, sales, and manufacturing departments.

·         Coordinates and manages implementation of equipment for specific customer accounts.

·         Identify and drive cost reduction initiatives.

·         Lead cross-functional teams in new product commercialization.

 

 

Education Experience

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering required.

·         Minimum (3-5) years experience preferred.

·         Technical curriculum or knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid flow, materials science, and/or electro-mechanics.

·         Experience in several of the following areas: precision mechanics, robotics, electromechanical systems, broad knowledge of automation, pneumatics, and design with sheet metal and plastics (injection and thermoforming). Emphasis on injection molded part design with understanding of tooling.

·         Must be proficient in the use of parametric solid modeling software. Solidworks experience preferred.

·         Must be proficient in the use of industry best practices for engineering design (FMEA, DFMA, etc).

·         Knowledge of beverage dispensing industry preferred.

·         Knowledge of quality processes, costs of defects, and how quality relates to the design and manufacturing of the product.

·         Statistical knowledge including working knowledge of Minitab.  Six Sigma experience.

·         25% travel required.

·         Possess valid state driver’s license.
