Mechanical Engineer (P. Eng)
Mechanical Engineer, P. Eng
Reporting directly to the Engineering Supervisor this role is responsible to provide design guidance to the Project Engineering team.
Qualifications:
- P. Eng (will be stamping)
- Extensive Mechanical Design/Calculations experience.
- Non-theoretical, "hands on" background in Mechanical Engineering
- Supervisory experience an asset
- Experience in one of the following an asset: Thermodynamics, Boilers, Pressure vessels, P and ID's, Power Generation, Steel Structural engineering (please highlight these in application).
- Individual will be stepping into new role in charge of increasing speed/accuracy of Design Engineering team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Direct supervision of Project Engineering personnel when performing the duty of Project Engineer
• Maintain, improve and control MathCAD calculation templates
• Maintain, improve and control VTS (Vendor Technical Specifications) templates
• Coach and train the Project Engineering team for tools and software used in Engineering
• Participate in continues improvement projects for cost reduction and quality improvement
• Maintain and control engineering standard task list and scheduling templates
• Responsible, in association with the Engineering Supervisor, to maintain, improve and train other team members in calculation templates, VTS (Vendor Technical Specification) templates, etc. etc.
• Responsible, in association with the Engineering Supervisor, to produce, review and implement Engineering standards, procedures and specifications
• Assist in the selection of Project Engineering contract employees
• Provide input and guidance to other Engineering personnel on any technical issues
• Participate in all design reviews
• Work with Engineering partners (FEA, CFD) examining methods and strategies to improve both product and process
• Prepare/check calculations as assigned by the Engineering Supervisor
• Interface with CADDS and manufacturing personnel to ensure the integrity of the product
