This large organisation is seeking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to look after a range of sorting machinery. You will be carrying out pre-planned preventative maintenance routines as well as reactive repair/breakdown repair and continuous improvement work on a wide range of machinery.
You will be working a permanent day-shift (usually 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm). There is some flexibility in the hours of work to suit the successful candidate.
This is a permanent position, which attracts a competitive starting salary, with overtime and additional payments for call-outs available. The vacancy has arisen due to the current Engineer progressing in his career with the company, who have a policy of developing their people and internal promotion.

The position requires an experienced and knowledgeable Maintenance Engineer, who preferably has experience of maintaining conveyor systems, although good mechanical maintenance experience will also be considered. Although this position has a strong mechanical bias it does involve some basic electrical maintenance for example trouble-shooting electrical circuits and dealing with faults on lighting systems so we are ideally looking for multi-skilled candidates, with experience of working in an environment where electrical and mechanical skills were required.
You should have served a recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering and be qualified to ONC level or equivalent. A proven background in maintenance, preferably from working with an environment with a variety of equipment including conveyor systems and facilities maintenance, is essential.
