Mechanical Engineer
The role of the Mechanical Engineer is to provide mechanical engineering support for the design, fabrication, and implementation of equipment improvements relative to tooling problems, equipment test, equipment installations, new process evaluation, specifications, justification and equipment modifications.
Languages:
- French beneficial but not mandatory
Responsibilities:
- Develops mechanical designs that when implemented will achieve effective desired improvement on existing plant equipment, process and facilities as well as introduction of new processes.
- Evaluates current process and facilities as well as introduction of new processes.
- Develops project cost estimates for proposed equipment improvements.
- Develops design, installation, and start up documents (includes drawings, specification, operating guidelines, etc.)
- Supervises the fabrication, installation and initial operation of equipment using Michelin personnel and outside contractor services.
- Provides technical support to maintenance on problem resolution and training.
- Maintains Engineering equipment archives.
- Travels 25-50% (project-based travel) in support of capital projects at Michelin Facilities (primarily US-based travel, but some International Travel may be required).

Qualifications
Requirements:
- Education: BS Mechanical Engineering(or technical equivalent - eg. Aerospace Engineering, Textile Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, etc)
- At least 3 years industrial experience/project management in a manufacturing environment
- Must have experience with mechanical design (2D and 3D) using modeling software (AutoCad and Solidworks preferred)
- Must be mobile, able to travel to plants and locations both inside and outside the US at a 25-50 percent travel level.
- Applicant must be well organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Applicant must have strong communication skills with the ability to influence and resolve issues. Both written and verbal communication skills are essential.

- Demonstrated strong organizational skills and project management ability.
