Lenze Americas is looking for a Mechanical Quality/Safety Team Leader who will be responsible for providing guidance, instruction and leadership to the quality and manufacturing teams. This will enable them to achieve greater success and make breakthrough improvements along with being committed to corporate values and results oriented.
Must be willing to travel internationally on occasion.
Responsibilities:
- Educate and develop manufacturing work groups to achieve required quality results
- Improve individual technical skills and abilities of individuals to work together
- Ensure that all finished products meet the company, customer and government standards of quality
- Ensure that all QC technicians and plant personnel are properly trained with regard to quality and safety programs and procedures
- Ensure that all equipment is calibrated and functioning in a safe manner
- Ensure the free flow of information between departments by identifying and troubleshooting problems in the production process.
- Prepare all necessary reports and provide regular feedback to keep management fully informed
- Perform various duties under the specific direction of the Manager of Safety and Quality
- Establish and sustain sound relationships with all employees in order foster an environment where innovative methods are used to involve other in creative solutions to issues.
- Lead Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Participate in the MRB daily meetings and review all nonconformance material
- Maintain and ensure that all chemicals are labeled and stored in a proper manner
- Conduct audits on a regular basis for both safety and production related processes.
- Train all necessary employees on yearly safety, forklift, and respirator use age.
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in mechanical or industrial engineering preferred or a minimum of seven years related experience in Quality Management and Safety Management within a manufacturing and/or electrical environment.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to make quality decisions regarding product conformance to the standards.
- Knowledge of both local and national safety laws and requirements
- Strong leadership skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good interpersonal and team building skills
- Must have good analytical and business judgment including demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities
- Knowledge of the Illinois safety and environment requirements.
- Strong computer skills
- Experience in: SAP R3, Six Sigma, SPC, ISO and Lean Manufacturing a plus.
