Mechanical Technician Job in Hutchinson 67501, Kansas US

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To repair, maintain, diagnose, and service a variety of plant facilities, machinery, and mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment. Maintains plant facility to promote a physically and environmentally safe workplace.

A. Diagnose unusual and difficult machine and mechanical difficulties; plan and perform a wide variety of repairs on plant facilities, machines, and mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment by disassembling and locating the cause of operational difficulties and replacing or repairing worn or broken parts.
B. Ability to read hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, and machine drawings.
C. Reassemble equipment making necessary adjustments to insure efficient operation; install accessory equipment.
D. Operate mills, lathe, drill press, hydraulic equipment, hand tools and measuring instruments such as scale
micrometers, calipers and other machine tools as required.
E. Works with the minimum of direct supervision and or assistance from other experienced mechanics.
F. Help establish and perform preventative maintenance procedures.
G. May guide, instruct and give direction to one or two other employees.
H. Plan and perform repair operations on standard plant machinery after determining mechanical trouble, making general decisions as to cause of trouble, replacement of parts.
M. Assist and maintain/order inventory in stock supply by keeping records or notifying proper persons of standard parts, accessories, supplies and equipment used in performing repair jobs.
Q. Perform basic welding as required (arc, gas, soldering, and brazing).
R. Exercise continuous mental and visual attention in performing duties.
S. Work independently and/or assist other crafts and departments in accomplishing their duties.
T. Work in accordance with safety rules and general safety practices.
U. Perform other related duties as required.
V. Responsible only for own work.
W. Required to operate and maintain various vehicles such as aerial booms, lift trucks, and man lifts.
X. Required to perform established preventative maintenance procedures, such as oiling.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE: Three years verifiable related experience or equivalent technical training from an accredited school. Requires use of and training in general shop mathematics, drawings, measuring instruments, knowledge of plumbing, basic electrical/electronics, machine mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system repairs and troubleshooting, and use of CNC diagnostic programs.
