Mechanical Workshop Technician

As Mechanical Workshop Technician in one of the country’s leading university mechanical workshops, you will be instrumental in the manufacture of precision and bespoke items of highly specialised scientific equipment, for use in research and teaching. You will, also, assist with the design of precision equipment, for which training will be provided as necessary and with the maintenance and repair of workshop tools and research and teaching equipment.

 

You will have been apprentice trained as a precision mechanical engineer, ideally as either a precision turner with some milling experience, or as a precision miller with some turning experience, or a precision engineer with extensive experience of both disciplines. You will hold appropriate engineering qualifications, typically a BTEC Higher Certificate or equivalent and have the ability to work at high levels of skill and accuracy, within a mechanical workshop environment.

 

Salary will be within the range £23,121 - £28,401 per annum. The post is full-time and available immediately.
