Mechanical/Piping Site Engineer
Description:Piping/ Mechanical Site Engineer
THE DESIGN GROUP ENERGY DIVISION is looking for a Piping/Mechanical SiteEngineer for their client companys project team. .This position will be a key member of the engineering and construction team and will report directly to the Lead Field Engineer.
This is a site based position, with a two week on - one week off rotation.
Responsibilities
- The primary role of the site engineering team is to support construction with design issues affecting construction progress, clarify design drawings, support the site quality and turnover teams and liaise with home office engineering.
- Accountabilities include but are not limited to:
- Monitors construction activities to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
- Coordinates the RFI (Request for Information) program from the Contractors
- Provides construction with technical clarifications to engineering drawings, vendor information and installation instructions.
- Resolves engineering interferences and coordinates the involvement of home office engineering when required,
- Provides input to constructability and lessons learned
- Coordinates engineering input to construction quality team as required
- Assist in the implementation of the Construction Quality Program
- Keeps project team abreast of engineering and construction initiated design changes
- Supports project controls in estimates and trend coordination.
- Supports construction initiated scope of work with technical input
- Coordinates As-Built drawings and verification of final vendor drawings
- Supports safe, timely and cost effective field construction of all projects assigned in a manner which meets environmental, health, safety and security standards.
Qualifications
· Registered Professional Engineer
· 5+ years experience in heavy industrial projects, preferably oil and gas.
· proficient with MS Office suite, in particular Microsoft Excel
· site experience an asset
