A large Radiation Oncology practice in Alpharetta is seeking an experienced Client Account Manager. This position is responsible for account follow-up for all assigned accounts, resolving billing problems and answering patient inquiries. This position will also establish patient financial arrangements as needed to include Financial Hardship applications. Proven NextGen skills/experience highly preferred. Applicants must be committed to excellence and have at least 2+ years of solid experience in radiation oncology coding, billing, and reimbursement. Professionalism and the ability to self-manage day-to-day tasks are an absolute must.

Essential Functions:
· Performs follow up on patient accounts to ensure accurate and timely payments.
· Reviews account aging on a monthly basis and reports inconsistencies and corrects errors as appropriate.
· Contacts patients regarding delinquent accounts and arranges mutually acceptable payment schedules.
· Demonstrates the ability to deal with patients and insurance companies regarding sensitive financial matters and recapture unpaid balances.
· Receives and resolves patient billing complaints and questions; initiates adjustments as necessary; follows up on all budget payment discrepancies and exercises all options to obtain those payments.
· Reviews credit balance reports. Performs reconciliation of refund accounts; attaches documentation to process refund checks.
· Makes appropriate financial arrangements for payment of patient accounts; follows up to determine if payment arrangements are being met; contacts patients to resolve problems; responds to correspondence or telephone calls from patients about accounts.
· General understanding of pending Medicaid accounts to ensure timely filing.
· Prepares write-off requests with appropriate documentation.
· Processes insurance/patient correspondence, resulting from incorrect patient responsibility balances after insurance payments have been applied.
· Other responsibilities as assigned.
Must possess a minimum of two years of training within a radiation oncology health care environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess knowledge of healthcare billing guidelines, accounts receivable follow-up, and contractual adjustments. Must have the ability to resolve incorrect patient account balances and to process refunds or adjustments as required. Must have an understanding of and the ability to read, interpret and clarify EOB’s. Must have general knowledge of CPT-4, ICD-9 and other industry tools as well as the correct use of standard modifiers. Excellent math, verbal and written communication skills, and computer literacy are required. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word Processing and Excel Spreadsheets are other essential skills to be productive. Strong interpersonal skills and sound analytical and problem solving skills are required.
