Position Purpose:

Work under the direction of the Clinical Lead, Clinic Manager, or appropriate staff to provide basic patient care to assigned patients.  This position to be held by a WA Certified Health Care Assistant.

Minimum Qualifications:
 
Education:
· High School Diploma or GED
 
Professional Licensure/Certification/Registration:
· Graduate of a certified medical assistant program or military corpsman training or experience; certified or able to be certified at levels A, C, and E.  (WA Health Care Assistants must be at least certified at A, C, E levels in order to perform job duties listed. Please see WAC definition below.)
· CPR certification.
 
Experience:
· If WA certified Health Care Assistant, minimum one (1) year of medical assisting experience in a clinic setting preferred.
 
Special Training/Skills:
· Computer keyboard skills preferred.
· Effective organization skills
 
Working Conditions:
· Exposure to and contact with soaps, sterilants, and body substances.
· Exposure to variety of noise levels, such as phones, intercoms, equipment and conversations.
 
WAC 246-826-110  Heath Care Assistant Classifications
· A assistants may perform venous and capillary invasive procedures for blood withdrawal.
· C assistants may perform intradermal subcutaneous and intramuscular injections for diagnostic agents and administer skin tests.
· E assistants may perform intradermal subcutaneous and intramuscular injection for therapeutic agents.
