WorkWell is a premier Occupational Medicine provider in the state of Pennsylvania who is currently seeking to fill a Medical Assistant position in our AGH clinic and Carnegie location. WorkWell specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and resolution of occupational injuries. Additional services our company provides include performing physicals, drug and alcohol testing, and other ancillary services.
Job Description:
This position is primarily responsible for triage, assisting physicians with patient exams, inventory of medical supplies, and as a back-up to all other office positions including Case Manager.
Patient Care
1. Escort injury patients to exam rooms.
2. Have all new patients complete appropriate paperwork.
3. Prepare charts daily for physician. Includes obtaining all medical reports expected since last office visit and preparing forms for case manager and physician.
4. Assist physicians with dressing changes, injections, minor office procedures, suturing, and suture removal.
5. Escort physical examination patients to exam rooms. Complete history, height, weight, urinalysis, vision screening on all physical examinations.
6. Review all physical examination forms for completeness and accuracy.
Urine Drug Screening/Alcohol Testing
1. Proper urine collection and alcohol testing, complete chain of custody forms, package urine specimens, and arrange courier pick-up of urine specimens.
2. Mail all copies of chain of custody forms to appropriate parties.
3. Store collection supplies and keep sufficient supply of chain of custody forms, kits, airbils, and shipping envelopes.
4. Maintain records of all urine drug collections and alcohol tests.
5. Retrieve paperwork for laboratory or employer as requested.
Supplies
1. Monitor patient supplies inventory and order supplies as needed from corporate office van driver.
2. Maintain patient exam rooms – keep orderly and stocked.
3. Order chain of custody forms and other drug screen supplies.
4. Prepare biohazard red bags for pick-up as scheduled.
Other Duties
1. Answer phone, transfer calls, and take proper messages for other staff.
2. File medical reports in patient charts and retrieve medical documentation as requested by corporate office.
3. Cross-trained in case management.
4. Additional duties as directed by management.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications as a minimum:
2+ years of experience in Medical Enviroment
Excellent organizational skills with an orientation to detail
Excellent telephone and communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to be persuasive, problem solve, multi-task and prioritize
Computer literate - Preferred: ORACLE, Outlook, Microsoft Office
