Medical Billing Operations Manager

 

A fast paced and growing physician medical billing and practice management firm located in downtown Worcester, MA, has an open position for a Billing Operations Manager.

 

Summary

This high profile management position focuses on continuous improvement and denial prevention, requiring a high degree of analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, as well as solid technical expertise in physician medical billing.  Core responsibilities include tightly managing the medical billing metrics and aligning the resources to ensure current claims, maximum insurance reimbursement for each client, minimized accounts receivable, and prompt month end reporting.  Will work with an eye for continuous improvement, communicating and implementing proactive measures, and adjusting internal operations and workflow to support the dynamic needs of our new service model as we transition to a web-based billing product.  They will also conduct detailed practice analysis, proactively identify opportunities for revenue cycle improvement, and interface regularly with executive staff. 

The Billing Operations Manager will maintain current and upcoming knowledge of insurance and government policy changes regarding medical billing and have the analytical skills to apply their knowledge to deliver value to our clients. 

 

Compensation is in the range of $70k to $80k annually.

Requirements:

·         College Degree required.  MBA preferred.

·         Must have 7 to 10 years MA/CT medical billing experience (other states a plus), with 3 to 5 in a supervisory role.  Proven success upholding corporate standards, implementing continuous improvements and fostering growth.

·         Advanced working knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, HCPCS and anesthesia coding a must.  Experience with Medicare, Medicaid and all major HMO/insurance carriers.  Knowledge of insurance websites and PHO’s / IPA (fee schedules).

·         Strong analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well and create positive change in a fast-paced team environment.

·         The ability to communicate and present self extremely well in writing, on the phone, in person, and with executive staff.  Strong mastery of English language and grammar.

·         Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task; Attention to detail and accuracy of work.

·         Proficiency in Excel; able to quickly learn new systems.  Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat.
