Medical Collections Job in Houston 77038, Texas US
The Level I Collector will work accounts receivable of insurance claims requiring extensive phone contact with insurance companies. Identify payment obstacles and formulate possible solutions to achieve the maximum reimbursement.
POSITION RESPONSILITIES
à Follow-up of aging Accounts Receivable insurance claims.
à Process claims that are denied through appeal or reprocessing procedures
à Understand and apply appropriate adjustment types.
à Discern underpayments and manage the appeals process.
à Interpret Explanation of Benefits including allowed amounts, discounts, in/out-of-network benefit levels, deductibles, coinsurances and copays.
à Process paper and electronic claims.
à Apply ICD9 and CPT code knowledge to collection of claims.
à Apply eCardio Special Instructions for processing claims for carriers and practices.
à Assist with patient insurance verification process as needed.
à Maintain daily goal of accounts worked.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
à 6+ Months Prior Medical Collections Experience.
à Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial carriers
à Typing skills 35wpm or greater.
à Professional grammar, spelling and telephone etiquette required.
à Excellent communication and organizational skills
à Must be able to calculate insurance benefits
à Must be able to read and understand Explanation of Benefits.
à Must be able to multi-task
