Summa Health Systems Institute for Seniors and Post-Acute Care - Medical Director Opportunity Akron, Ohio based Summa Health System is seeking an innovative physician leader to serve as director of the Institute for Seniors and Post-Acute Care. The Institute is renowned for its commitment to innovative value-based treatment of older adults. Nationally ranked as high-performing in the Akron metro area by U.S. News and World Report, the Institute integrates clinical care, community collaborations, research and physician education to create seamless, evidence based models of care. The successful candidate must provide strategic leadership of the Institute and staff across Summa Health System entities and expand the Institutes programs throughout the five-county service area. In addition, the director is required to represent the Institute for Seniors and Post-Acute Care at senior-level system initiatives and advocate for the Institutes objectives. Enjoy working with the Institutes interdisciplinary team of more than 20 board certified physicians supported by nurse practitioners, social workers and spiritual care staff, who deliver comprehensive geriatric, post-acute and palliative care, in ambulatory, rehab, hospital, home-based and extended-care facilities. The Institute also has two accredited fellowship programs in geriatric and palliative medicine to inspire a new generation of physicians to care for an aging America. Desired qualifications include five years of experience in a leadership or management role at a progressive geriatric program and experience in medical research and education initiatives.
