Medical Lab Tech
Position Description This position is responsible for performing all levels of general testing within the analytical laboratory under direct supervision. Responsible for start up, calibration, maintenance and accuracy of procedures and instrumentation. Performs basic troubleshooting of instrument problems. Demonstrates basic knowledge of pertinent computer systems. Demonstrates basic comprehension of theory and clinical reference tests. Exercises independent judgment, and can identify appropriate resources, in performance of assigned duties. Demonstrates problem resolution and decision making skills for routine operational and technical problems. Associates Degree and ASCP MLT certification or equivalent OR Bachelors degree in a science field with applicable clinical experience and MT certification by ASCP. Dayshift 6am-2:30pm and 11am-7:30pm; holiday and weekend rotation At Porter Hospital, healthcare is not merely a business. It is a calling.
