Req # (optional) 81286BR Explore a Career In ACL Lakeshore Lake Drive Job Description Imagine yourself working with the Laboratory team where you are responsible for performing clinical laboratory testing of biological specimens in any/all specialty areas using manual or automated techniques. The medical laboratory technician will use independent judgment and cognitive skills to develop data, which may be used by the physician in determining the presence and extent of disease. Imagine Yourself... *Performing, evaluating, and monitoring laboratory tests as authorized within established protocols, selecting and performing additional procedures when indicated. *Evaluating results for clinical significance, validity and appropriateness. *Following prescribed policy in the reporting and notification of test results. *Performing and documenting calibration and maintenance of instruments and equipment. *Performing and documenting quality control. Evaluating quality control results and taking corrective action when indicated. *Recognizing indicators of test and/or instrument malfunction and making basic corrections by using prescribed strategies or notifies the medical technologist, site coordinator or supervisor. *Performing internal and external proficiency testing in the same manner as patient samples. *Ascertaining that specimens are properly labeled and suitable for testing. *Collecting specimens from newborn, pediatric, and adult patients according to established protocol.
