Providing medical physicist services to institute departments using radiation beams for therapy of disease; maintaining quality assurance and calibration of radiotherapy equipment; providing consultation in radiation safety matters; participating in treatment design and delivery. * Performing delivery of non-standard, standard and complicated treatment techniques and planning. * Performing medical physicist services using radiation beams for therapy of disease * Calibrating various therapy machine and measures instruments against national standards. * Commissioning new therapy equipment and accessories under the direction of the Senior Physicist. * Measuring therapy beam data for treatment planning purposes. * Entering and validating data in treatment planning computers. * Assisting engineers with the troubleshooting process when experiencing equipment complications. * Performing radiation surveys of patients that are exposed to radioactive sources; regularly performs radiation surveys of treatment rooms. * Assisting with writing specifications for new therapy equipment; designs new techniques and ancillary equipment * Contributing to the establishment of departmental policies and procedures, quality initiatives, safety and compliance standards.
