Our Company: Outcomes Health Information Solutions is a healthcare data retrieval and analysis company.  One of our functions is to perform chart reviews and audits in Physician’s offices and Hospitals in over 47 states for health plans/insurance companies.  For these reviews and audits we hire medical professionals as field reviewers.

Field Reviewer Position:  A Field Reviewer is responsible for visiting physicians’ offices (generally scheduled within a 40 mile radius of their home) to scan specific portions of medical records and later upload them.  Outcomes will provide you with a laptop and scanner to use for the duration of the project however you are still required to have a home based computer with high speed internet access and working printer.  Each project is different but in most payment integrity audits you will be scanning specific portions of the medical records such as:  progress notes, demographic sheets, problem lists etc…from a specific date range.  As a field reviewer it is very important to upload your charts every day after your appointments. We will schedule the appointments at the physicians’ office based off the reviewer’s availability, verify that the patient charts are at that location and make sure you have a place to work in the office.  In most cases the charts will be pulled for the reviewer however there are rare circumstances where that is not the case. We are in the testing stages of integrating into our current scheduling system a new tool for scheduling that incorporates the latest in mapping technology.  This interactive map allows schedulers to utilize visual aides to augment our current scheduling technology.  We are quite excited about the possibility to increase field reviewer effectiveness and efficiency by implementing this tool. The reviewer will also be assigned a Field Reviewer Advocate who is their main point of contact at Outcomes and will be there to help them every step of the way while they are out in the field. Every day that the field reviewer is scheduled, they are to call and check in with their advocate before their appointments. Your advocate will be available to answer any questions you may have while you are in the field and assist you with any problems.

The training goes over everything on how to navigate our website, use the equipment and proper documents that the field reviewer will need from each chart.  We have added some new technology this year so everyone will have to go through some form of training.  Once the field reviewer goes through the training we prefer to have the quiz submitted to us within 24 hours.
