Medical Tech

Shift/Schedule: Night shift position will rotate weeks, work 5 nights on, 9 nights off.
Will work some holidays and occasional weekends.
Summary: Perform diagnostic and screening tests and procedures on patient samples; perform quality control and maintenance of equipment related to testing procedures; evaluate test results, quality control, and perform troubleshooting to ensure validity and quality of results. Role model patient-and family-centered care.
Requirements: Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree required. Graduation from a medical technology program required. One year previous Medical Technologist experience in comparable clinical laboratory setting or completed internship in a Medical Technology training program. Recent experience as a medical technologist in a comparable clinical laboratory setting with chemistry, hematology, blood bank and micro set-up experience preferred. Must have demonstrated experience in the ability to work independently and multi-task in a comparable clinical laboratory setting. May be subject to additional background check to meet the requirements of the Colorado Department of Public Health Environment. Registered or registry-eligible as Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent. If registry-eligible, must obtain registration within 90 days of hire. Proof of recertification needed for all technologists who have obtained certification after January 1, 2004.
