Medior / Senior Java Developer (International team) Job in Amsterdam, Noord Holland Netherlands

Great opportunity for ambitious Java Developers! We are looking for a Java Developer with at least two years of industry experience to join an international / multicultural team of at least 20 developers. This is a very interesting permanent position based in Amsterdam Zuid-Oost. The working language is English.

Our client is a leading local search and advertising business operating in national markets through print, online, mobile and phone channels. Our client publishes classified (yellow pages) and alphabetic A-Z (white pages) print and online directories as well as mobile and phone-based equivalents, making them a key source of local intelligence about products and services. Currently our client operates in Belgium, Ireland, Portugal and as part of a joined venture in South Africa. The Services Technology department provides integrated systems solutions to meet the worldwide business needs. These systems are designed to satisfy local requirements and are produced in different programming languages such as Java, C++, .Net. The international staff provides the cultural diversity required for success in global markets.

Role and responsibilities
- Perform product design and development activities for new products and maintenance and support
of existing systems
- Participate in review meetings, prepare documentation, and conduct unit testing and integration testing
- Provide support and assistance in installation and acceptance testing as required, including on-site client support work

Requirements and skills
- Degree (or equivalent) in Computing, Engineering, Mathematics or other science-based subject, plus experience of software development
- Demonstrable experience of Java programming (standard and enterprise level features)
- Good working knowledge of XML and XSLT, Oracle, SQL Server, JDBC, JPA
- Good working knowledge of JSF / PrimeFaces
- Knowledge of OO techniques, OOAD and design patterns
- Fluently in verbal and written English
- Ability to take initiative, flexible and result driven
- Good interpersonal -, communication skills, ability to work in a team.

Desired
- Knowledge of JSF, SOA, JBoss Drools, JNI
- Experience in working in an international environment is an advantage
- Valid Dutch work permit or EU passport
