This is a Technical Pre-Sales Support role responsible for activites supporting the pursuit of power control projects focused on Medium Voltage products (motor control centres, variable frequency drives, and solid state reduced voltage starters). This position supports Sales and Distributors to interface with Consultants, OEMs and End User Clients, and oversees the execution of the overall bidding process for our rapidly growing global Medium Voltage Business.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contribute to overall success of Medium Voltage Business by proposing complete technical and commercial solutions for clients.
• Employ excellent technical skills and creativity to combine Medium Voltage Drives and Motor Control Centers with each other and with selected 3rd party suppliers. Apply engineering skills to perform engineering analysis to help qualify our equipment in the application. Network internally to understand and apply product synergies.
• Employ commercial skills and creativity to maximize RA profit opportunity while addressing Total Cost of Acquisition and Ownership issues with the client. Negotiate internally and externally. Understand and apply concepts of cost, value and profit margin to establish pricing.
• Provide input into identification and selection of opportunities. Work with sales personnel and technical marketing specialists in multiple product divisions in an extended team environment.
• Obtain necessary project approvals. Analyze job cost and margin, prepare risk assessments and cash flow analyses.
• Work with Contracts and Negotiations and Rockwell Automation legal as required to negotiate mutually acceptable Terms and Conditions and Payment Terms.
• Provide cross functional support in a team environment to other departments when necessary or as needed to ensure customer expectations are met.
• Ensure that order requirements are adequately communicated to Product Divisions and / or Project Managers.

• Electrical Engineering degree or Electrical Technologist diploma required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Formal work related experience is not mandatory. Will train. A positive attitude and willingness to learn is required.
• Willingness to learn about Rockwell Automation power control products including peripheral equipment such as motors, switchgear,transformers, PLCs.
• Ability to coordinate and communicate with customer through the Sales and Channel groups.
• Ability to interface with internal teams, including purchasing, application and development engineering, project management and quality.
• Ability to work closely with business unit management.
