The Meeting and Event Planner will successfully plan and execute domestic and international meetings, conferences and events for Franklin Templeton Investments. Events may include Due Diligence Meetings, Wholesaler Meetings, Board of Directors Meetings, Strategic Planning Meetings, Roadshows, Client Events and Corporate Sponsorship Events. Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Work with internal clients to gather event requirements and make appropriate recommendations.
- Create and present budget forecasts, vendor comparisons, and schedule of events.
- Select and negotiate services with vendors ensuring the best quality and value while staying within budget guidelines provided by clients.
- Ensure compliance guidelines are followed, materials are routed as appropriate and all approvals are received.
- Negotiate and execute all contracts with adherence to corporate standards.
- Confirm deliverables with all parties prior to the event and follow checklists to ensure proper event execution.
- Attend events as necessary to ensure event adheres to schedule and resolve any unexpected problems.
- Reconcile event expenses and evaluate effectiveness of the event.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Travel and Tourism or related field.
- At least 3 years of related event planning experience.
- Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation a plus (but not required).
- Experience in the financial services industry preferred.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to represent the company in a professional manner.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organization and project management skills.
- Ability to understand vendor contracts and negotiate fees as necessary.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Some travel required.
