DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA BAR

MEMBER SERVICE CENTER CLERK

 

The District of Columbia Bar has job openings (3) available for temporary Member Service Center Clerks (MSCC) in the Member Service Center (MSC) beginning in May 2012.  The positions offer full time hours (35) during the summer. Daily workflow is overseen by the Member Relations Specialist (MRS). These positions report to the Manager, Member Service Center (MMSC).

 

 

  1. Performs data entry for address changes, status changes and other updates to member records.

 

  1. Assists in answering telephone inquiries about membership issues and other customer inquiries.

 

  1. Assists in re-mailing of dues statements and Washington Lawyer address change cards.

 

  1. Provides back-up to the Sr. Center Processors and the Sr. Customer Service Assistants.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Other duties as assigned.

 

 

  1. Must be currently enrolled at a college or university.

 

  1. Proficiency with Microsoft Suite 2010 and knowledge of data entry and previous keyboard experience required.

 

  1. Ability to interact well in a team environment with Bar members, volunteers, vendors, the public and staff.

 

  1. Must be detailed oriented and deadline driven.

 

 

  1. Must be able to lift a minimum of 15 lbs., which will include repetitive movement.

 

  1. Ability to handle and maintain sensitive and confidential information.

 

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

This is a temporary full-time position with an hourly rate between $10.50 and $12.50 per hour, commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for any benefits, holiday pay and annual or medical leave.
