Job Function:
Provide Engineering support to MOVPE (Metal Organic Vapor Phase Epitaxy) Operations for production and characterization. Job requires a considerable amount of time inside a clean room. Daily Production activities include: analyzing and approving x-ray diffraction scans signing lot dispositions and quality notifications analyzing a significant volume of data on solar cell performance, including: - IV curves - doping measurements - spectral response data - sheet resistance - photoluminescence Making rapid decisions based on data whether to continue running any given machine Troubleshooting machines based on the data above, and on basic mechanical / electrical systems understanding. Certifying reactors are configured correctly after maintenance is performed. Writing and updating procedures. Act as Incident Commander in case of safety related incidents Adjusting production growth recipes as needed The candidate must work well with others as a member of a team, and be able to lead project teams in complex tasks. Additional job functions may include: Provide technical support to MO Characterization group in wet etching, photolithography, wafer dicing, metal deposition and wafer characterization. Troubleshoot tools/equipments use in x-ray diffraction measurements, electrochemical capacitance-voltage measurements, photoluminescence measurements, spectral response measurements and step-height film thickness (Dektak) measurements. Maintain existing SQL servers used by production tools, develop additional reporting capability based on production and engineering needs. Act as interface with vendors for software-related issues, including bug reports and upgrades. Act as interface to facility manufacturing information systems team, including leading MOVPE-area tool integration projects as part of team activities.

Education Desired:
B.S. degree in one or more of the following fields: Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or Physics.

Experience Desired:
1-3 years process engineering experience supporting manufacturing activities. Experience using reactive gases, toxic / flammable materials, and high vacuum systems. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the following: MOVPE / MOCVD Wet etching, photolithography, wafer dicing and metal deposition. Performing and analyzing x-ray diffraction measurements, electrochemical capacitance-voltage measurements, photoluminescence measurements, spectral response measurements and step-height film thickness (Dektak) measurements. Troubleshooting equipments use in wafer processing/characterization listed above. Managing SQL server 2005 or later, including Reporting Services. Creating reports in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or later Reporting Services. Designing and creating database structures. Programming in one or more of the following languages or environments: Visual Basic, C, C++, C#, PHP, ASP.NET, .NET.

nowledge Desired:
Knowledge of gas phase chemistry, chemistry, materials engineering, toxic / flammable materials handling, vacuum systems design, wet etching, photolithography, wafer dicing, metal deposition, wafer characterization, statistics, statistical process control. Also, knowledge in x-ray diffraction, electrochemical capacitance-voltage, photoluminescence, spectral response and step-height film thickness (Dektak) measurements. The candidate must be computer literate, have good written and oral communication skills, and good interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate would possess knowledge of fundamental database design principles, and be knowledgeable about Microsoft SQL Server, 2005 or later. The ideal candidate should also know fundamental programming principles, and be knowledgeable in one or more of the following languages: Visual Basic, C, C++, C#, PHP, ASP.NET, .NET.

Special Requirements:
Must be a US person (US Citizen or US permanent resident) Must pass physical requirements to work in MOVPE clean room, including the capability to stand for several hours at a time. Must be able to read, perform, and write complex process documentation Must be able to analyze data from a variety of sources Must be willing to work on regularly scheduled weekend and /or evening shifts. Position could require you to cover First, Second or Third shift as needed. Shifts could be 8, 10 or 12 hrs.
