SUMMARY

Group Services Experience – Flexible to work two nights a week for evening Group Meetings

This position has primary responsibility for mental health and case management services to children or adolescents and their families.  The Mental Health Specialist provides mental health services, including engagement, evaluation, case management and other services to Clients referred to the Community Services Program. S/he acts as liaison with external agencies and functions on teams with other clinical and support staff. S/he documents and bills for mental health and case management services, and completes outcomes information.

 

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION

«  BA in a Mental Health Field plus four (4) years’ experience in a mental health field

OR

«  MA in a Mental Health Field plus two (2) years’ experience in a mental health field

«  Experience should be with children or adolescents (preferred) in residential or outpatient settings

«  Ability to perform clear and concise documentation

«  Knowledge of Community Resources, especially related to the Mental Health field, is highly desirable to make appropriate linkages

«  Willingness to be available by phone and periodically by team pager to assist in crisis intervention and problem resolution during scheduled, after hours and weekends for assigned and team clients

«  This position serves high risk underserved population in a multi-discipline team approach involving parent partners and case managers

«  Bilingual (English Spanish) skills highly desired to meet current client needs

«  Valid California Driver's License and Ability to drive to and from client’s homes in personal vehicle

 

As a condition of employment, applicants will be required to pass a criminal background check, drug screen and TB test.
