The Role and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director - Customer Solutions Group (Merchandising) as a Merchandise Manager/Buyer, you are responsible to manage all aspects of business performance as it relates to a multi-million dollar product category in order to increase profitability while delivering a strong value proposition for our customers and the company.
This includes creation and/or management of:
- Budgets and financial forecasting for multi-million dollar categories
- Effective product assortment and optimization plans
- Strategic business plans by which to drive category initiatives, growth and profit while also mitigating business loss
- Innovative business plans/solutions in anticipation of or reaction to market/industry changes
- Advertising strategies and execution plans
- Vendor relations
- Contract negotiations
Requirements
- You are a passionate, driven person who has extensive knowledge and experience managing full-cycle business including vendor relations and contract negotiations
- You understand how to integrate a strong customer value proposition with driving sales and profit
- You bring extensive experience in business, preferably within retail
- You are someone who drives business through your ability to foster strong relationships
- You rally people behind your ideas and are known as someone people count on to get the job done
- You are an innovator who constantly seeks out new possibilities and can take a sliver of an idea and transform it into a strategy to improve business outcomes. You can comfortably transition mindsets between creativity innovation and strategic planning execution
Education
A strong education in business, supply chain or a related discipline is required
