Position Summary The Merchandise Planner is responsible for managing his/her department?s owned inventory as well as planning and forecasting that department?s business. He/She will typically focus on 1-2 departments of medium volume/sku intensity and support others as needed. Key responsibilities are to maximize sales, gross profit, inventory turns, minimize markdowns and manage the open buy for several categories by analyzing financial, market, customer, and supplier data. Position Description ? Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in merchandise planning and replenishment and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans ? Drives item-level replenishment within complex and high-growth merchandise categories ? Maintains and executes financial plans and open-to-buy (OTB) forecasts for Merchandise Department ? Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity ? Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions ? Supports the continuous development of financial strategies for complex merchandise categories
