We are hiring Merchandise Managers for our Department Stores in the following markets:
- Jacksonville
- Pensacola
- Orlando
- Ocala/Lady Lake
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Supervise store employees through personnel-related activities including interviewing; hiring; conducting performance appraisals and pay-rate reviews; delegating; promoting; counseling; scheduling; and terminating.
· Ensure the ongoing protection of Bealls assets and funds.
· Maintain store security and safety on all levels as specified in Bealls policies and procedures. This includes the store itself, all funds, and the welfare of employees and customers.
· Apply all policies and procedures as described in Bealls manuals.
· Complete the proper administrative reports (e.g., financial reporting, sales data and other statistical reports) as required.
· Train assigned store personnel according to the directions given and using the materials provided by the Training Department and Operations management.
· Ensure the proper handling of merchandise functions within the store, including (but not restricted to) visual presentation, replenishment and backstock management, recovery standards, and adjacency compliance. Merchandise Managers must attain a 24-hour turnaround of product from the stockroom to the sales floor, following company guidelines of presentation standards.
· Advise customers and employees about the benefits, features and pricing policies of all Bealls merchandise and product lines.
· Ensure proper maintenance and housekeeping of the entire store according to Bealls standards.
· Perform all operational functions needed to run the store on a daily basis (e.g., POS system, computer network, maintenance, alterations, and sales).
· Travel, as required, to the bank, meetings, new store openings, remodeling of existing stores, delivery of merchandise via truck and related activities.
· Comply, cooperate with or act upon any directive or request given by Corporate Center management, which was approved by the Operations Division.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Must have full hand and arm usage for operating machinery such as POS terminals and ticketing machines.
· Must be able to reach a minimum of 60 inches for stocking and maintaining merchandise and office supplies.
· Must have full body rotation and mobility (i.e., bending, stooping, twisting and reaching) to replenish and maintain merchandise and office supplies.
· Must be able to climb stairs to stockroom (if applicable) in order to replenish and maintain merchandise and office supplies.
· Must be able to climb a 12-ft. ladder for maintaining and displaying merchandise (if applicable).
· Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 30 pounds to unload and process merchandise (if applicable).
· Must be able to push and pull merchandise fixtures (minimum resistance of 20 pounds) for presentation and department changes (if applicable).
· Must be able to handle cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuum, broom, mop, and duster) to maintain store cleanliness.
· Must be able to stand 90% of the day.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· 2 or 4 year college degree, or applicable time in retail management environment.
· Possess a valid FL driver’s license,
· Must deal with conflict resolution in a professional manner.
· Fluent in English.
· Must be responsive to a continually changing retail environment.
· Work varying hours and schedules as required.
· Travel whenever required and possibly on short notice.
· Must be willing to accept assignments or transfers in a market area or relocate for career opportunities.
Candidates that will be considered should have a proven track record as a results driven leader, must articulate a strong understanding of leadership skills, must possess retail management background as well as strong apparel merchandising.
